The why
We started watching matches with one tab open on SofaScore, another on FlashScore, a third on FotMob. Every time we wanted a metric that mattered — clutch performance, late-game momentum, ghost matches — we had to compute it ourselves from event data.
After ~18 months of building an internal scraper + metric pipeline for our own use, we realised the gap. Pros pay €5,000+/year for Wyscout or StatsBomb. Fans get xG and stop there. Nothing in between. So we built FootClaw.

The people
Two engineers, one product designer, one part-time editorial writer for blog. Based in Europe. We code in Python + FastAPI + custom CSS (no React). We use Anthropic Claude for AI commentary because it produces the most honest tactical reads we've tested.
