Cookie Policy
Effective date: 2026-05-14. This policy explains what cookies we use, what they do, and how you can control them.
1. What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device so it can remember your preferences and recognise you on subsequent visits. We also use similar technologies such as localStorage for the same purpose.
2. Essential cookies
session — keeps you logged in. Required for authenticated access.
lang — stores your language preference (EN / RU).
theme — stores your light/dark theme preference.
fc_cookie_consent_v1 — remembers your cookie banner choice.
3. Analytics cookies (optional)
We use PostHog to understand how you use the Service so we can improve it. PostHog cookies record pages visited, time on page and clicks. They do not contain personal data such as name, email or address.
You can opt out of analytics at any time from the cookie banner or your Settings page.
4. Third-party cookies
Embedded third-party content (Google fonts, image proxies) may set their own cookies. We do not control these cookies; consult the respective providers' privacy policies.
5. Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies via your browser settings, but doing so may break some features (you will be logged out and language preference will reset). Use the cookie banner at the bottom of the page to manage analytics cookies on FootClaw specifically.
